Services

We offer services in all aspects of accident reconstruction to attorneys, insurance companies, the commercial motor vehicle industry and any other company involved in the transportation of people and products on the highways and roadways throughout the country. We can respond to accident scenes anywhere in the state of Florida within 8 hours of notification. Response times to national locations outside the state of Florida will be estimated on an individual basis.  The necessity for the speed of response is due to the need to photographically record and accurately measure the accident scene which includes all of the evidence generated from the dynamics of the accident. In every case the scene has to be photographed and measured.  The vehicles have to be accurately measured for determination of speeds from crush. All witnesses should be interviewed as soon as possible to compare their recollection to the evidence.

Accident Reconstruction

Accident Reconstruction is the reconstruction of all aspects of an accident.  The events that are reconstructed include the pre-collision, at-collision and post-collision phases of an accident, paths of travel, speeds and dynamics of the vehicles, pedestrians and objects involved in the accident. It often involves occupant kinematics, conspicuity issues, perception/reaction time, tire forensics, lamp analysis, crush/energy and equations derived from Newton's laws of physics.

We can also provide a crash data retrieval (CDR) reading .

Forensic Mapping

Includes mapping using a Topcon total station and Iwitness close range photogrammetry to obtain a scale diagram of the accident scene.  We use these diagrams in court to reconstruct the accident and give precise measurements to use in the different equations commonly used in accident reconstruction.

The total station uses a laser to accurately measure the scene including all of the available evidence.  The measurements are then downloaded to a CAD program to produce a scale diagram of the scene. The total station mapping technique is accurate to within .03 of an foot at a mile.  This mapping technique is widely accepted in court.

Photogrammetry is another commonly used mapping techique using photographs to accurately map accident scenes.  It is commonly used when the scene has been photographed, but not accurately measured for diagraming purposes and the evidence is no longer available.  It has been accepted in court to be every bit as accurate as the total station.

Case Review and Consulting

Case reviews can save our clients time and money by advising them of the case's strengths and weaknesses.  We will first give our clients a thorough verbal report and let them decide if they would like to proceed with a complete detailed investigative report. The investigations can be as small as a desktop review or as detailed as a multi-vehicle, multi-surface fully detailed investigative report.

Expert Witness

One of the most important aspects of any accident reconstruction is being able to articulate the facts of the reconstruction so that the client and a lay jury will be able to grasp the aspects of the accident in terminology that they can understand. Our extensive experience in case preparation, report writing, testimony in court, and depositions has been invaluable in being able to fluently describe the accident reconstruction to any audience. With decades of law enforcement experience to draw from, our consultants are recognized for their expertise in law enforcement policies, procedures, and state statutes.
